The Chinese lunar orbiter detected a large black monolith on the far side of the moon.

A NASA spokesman briefed the anxious press.

“This mission was too urgent for us to get a human crew up to speed. We’ve sent an Orion spacecraft with a robotic rover, the Alan Shephard, to make contact with the artifact in the next twenty-four hours.”

“What do you expect to find?”

“Is it alien?”

“Is it a weapon?”

“We just need to determine if it presents a danger to earth.”
